Pest Inspection in Clearwater Beach
When it comes to your home or business, pesky bugs can make things unpleasant. Choosing a pest control specialist in Clearwater Beach FL can be frustrating and expensive if you don’t choose the right one. Here’s a look at six things you should know about finding an exterminator:
1. Ask Around and Read the Reviews
Simply asking neighbors and colleagues might be the way to go. As a general rule, ask someone you trust to refer you. You can also use various online sources to read reviews and comments about different companies.
2. Set a Budget and Shop Around
Pest control services can be expensive, especially if severe damage to your property has occurred. Having an appropriate budget will allow you to narrow down your selection and motivate negotiation. Most companies offer a free estimate, so be sure to get price estimates from several different companies for cost comparisons.
3. Stay Local
Although major pest control companies may seem like the best choice, that isn’t always the case. Using a local specialist in your area is a great option. A local exterminator will understand the area and climate. In addition, they will most likely give you an accurate account of the problem and determine a better solution.
4. Communicate the Scope of Your Needs
One of the most important components of finding someone to fix your bug problem is clear, concise communication. Give them specific details about the problem, where it is, and any other solutions you have already tried. This will help your specialist determine what the right treatment and the tools they will need.
5. Make Sure They Are Licensed
Depending on where you live, the qualifications for being a pest control specialist may be different. When choosing the right fit for the job, do a little digging and make sure that their license and insurance is valid.
6. Read the Service Agreement Before You Sign
Before treating your property, ask to see the service agreement. Read it carefully. There can sometimes be hidden fees that you didn’t know about. Be sure to get a copy of the agreement to keep on file. It is advisable to walk through the property with the professional so that he or she can explain the process in detail.
7. Make Your Search Easy by Taking Precautions
No one ever intentionally brings bugs and critters onto their Clearwater Beach Florida property, and searching for an exterminator can be frustrating. Taking preventative measures can help you avoid the search. In eating and storage areas, always put food items away in sealed containers. It’s also important to ensure that your home is properly sealed. This includes adding screens on your windows and doors and checking around the property for any damage in the foundation.
When it comes to preventing a bug problem, there isn’t a perfect science. Pest maintenance is an integral part of being a property owner. Finding a specialist that you can work with and trust to alleviate the problem can be hard. Once you find someone you can trust, build and maintain that relationship!

Some Common Q & A’s
Other Than An Using A Pest Control Service, What Is The Best Solution For Treating Silver Fish?
We Need Products That Are &Quot;Pet Safe&Quot;.
I always refer to my favorite pest control website from the University of California, Davis http://ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7...
This is for silverfish and reiterates what the other answerers said. Clean, dry, plug holes, get rid of water source... It looks like you can use boric acid (which I think is fairly harmless to us) or diatomaceous earth which is totally harmless to us except when inhaling it in LARGE amounts. Anywho, check it out!

Those are catchy, but probably most people will look to see a regular name such as John's Pest control. Using logo's such as I and the others have shown would be catchy, but as a name may alienate the older customer and think that you are a fly-by-night company.
Does Anyone Have Any Ideas For Humane Pest Control?
We Have Rats In The Walls, So A Sonic Pest Deterrant Won'T Help (It Doesn'T Penetrate Walls). Any Ideas Are Welcome. Thanks!
Ok , so I am a licensed pest controller and here is some free advice:
If you can afford it call a pest controller.Tell him or her you want these rats live trapped ie. no snap traps, tracking powder,liquid/solid bait etc. Many pest control companies I know offer a service like this, we don't kill everything, BUT, this means YOU will have to do some of the work, ie checking the traps min.1 time every 24 hours to prevent the animal from wasting and to reduce the actual time the pest controller has to service your home. Once a rat is caught either A) Call the PCO (pest controller) he/she will take the rat a considerable distance to a legal release area. B) Remove the rat to an area across a major body of water (river) or several miles away and release where you LEGALLY can (your responsibility to know where that is!!!).Many municipalities are quietly banning relocation of any animals due to disease issues and lowered survival rates in many relocated animals.
Be aware, rats are VERY smart this WILL be a process spanning over several days or weeks. The traps may sit unset and baited for several days just to begin.
If you do this solo, research food bait types (to trap him/her),trap types, how to rodent proof your home to minimize REINFESTATION, and PRAY mama did'nt have babies. Have an odor contingency plan (if the babies are orphaned) etc. ie. Do your homework!
Sonic Pest controllers are a waste of money. Research has shown they work.....for up to 3 days after which the rodents become indifferent to the sound.Yes I can tell you I have a customer who had a field and deer mouse problem, and found a nest within 4 feet of his sonic device in his garage .(thanks for the business)
Side note: mousing/ratting is my "thing" and still longest time to trap a solitary male rat= 4 weeks in a restaurant the size of a corner bar. Last, I'll spare you the disease spiel but you do NOT want the infection I got from inhaling rodent urine in crawlspaces, know what your getting into. Hope this helps
